Vecna's QC Bot is a hospital courier, a remote presence solution and a patient safety assistant. The QC Bot integrates with your hospital's IT systems and with Vecna's QualityCare software suite (QC Works™). A configurable touch screen lets hospital staff interact with the robot easily and naturally.
Getting the Job Done
One robot, many uses
- An on-board video camera, combined with a display panel, enables videoconferencing with remote specialists
- Eight locking motorized drawers store medication, IVs or confidential paperwork. The QC Bot autonomously delivers its cargo and verifies the recipient's identity through barcodes or RFID
- A large payload area transports laundry, packages, meals, mail, supplies, and more, further saving labor and time
Going Solo
Sophisticated artificial intelligence
The QC Bot is capable of autonomously navigating to a specified destination. The robot uses innovative planning and scheduling algorithms to automatically plan the best possible path for reaching each destination within provided time constraints.
- When the QC Bot detects its batteries are low, it navigates to a charging station and automatically plugs itself in to recharge, without any human intervention
- When assigned a destination, the QC Bot finds its current location and maps a path to its destination, through existing hallways and foot traffic. It can even avoid known high-traffic areas
- The robot learns its environment by importing existing maps, or by an interactive training procedure
- The system autonomously coordinates multiple robot activities: given a set of destinations and a set of robots, the scheduler automatically plans the most efficient sequence of destinations for each robot
Near Zero Infrastructure
Infrastructure Solved
- Minimal infrastructure means less set up time, less maintenance, and less burden on hospital environments
- Entire QC Bot system is easily adaptable and expandable for addition of robot units, or a change in coverage area
- Integrates with existing Vecna QC Kiosk™ platforms, can even show patients to their appointments
